I was severely picked on as a child growing up while attending the Nelson County Schools in Kentucky. I was hit, kicked and verbally abused. You name it, it was done to me.I never Graduated, because, I couldn’t take it no more. I have had problems for years. I am still having night mares to this day. I understand this song and it brings tears to my eyes and the memories rush back in. I now have a child and in which is disabled. I am very protective of my child because of how people can be so mean. I hope this message get to the teenagers who are being mean to those who are “Different and less Fortunate”. A customer5.0 out of 5 starsI think this song has a very good message to it.March 12, 1999Format: Audio CDThis song is a very good song. It shows how you shouldn’t laugh at people or call them names, and that nobody is perfect, and that in God’s eyes, we’re all the same. The first time I heard this song, it brought tears to my eyes, because I have teased people in the past and hurt them in many ways, and that nobody is perfect. Thanks for your talent and the best song ever!!Comment|Was this review helpful to you?YesNoReport abuse

“WHAT’S IN A KISS ?

Why, surely, bliss, beauty, blossoms of love, even ecstasy shared with four-footed friends. Whether you string along with Robert Herrick’s bit that kissing is the “lime of love”, or with Dean Swift’s that it is man’s “most foolish invention”, the art of osculation does continue Boys kiss girl’s ; bees kiss flowers ; moonbeams kiss the sea. Demonstrating affection, animals also kiss, and, sometimes, they even kiss people. On these pages, SEE presents a gallery of kissin’ cousins from the animal and human worlds. Bears, tigers, dogs, monkeys and goats all show bussing approval of their masters. The happy humans, in turn -from ice skaters to circus trainers to film stars- respond in kind. Thus, with monkeys as with men, one touch of nature makes the whole world kin.”L’article, qui décline donc les baisers des belles et des bêtes, est émaillé de photos de femmes qui rivalisent de beauté. On voit Jeannette embrasser à pleine bouche un beau mâle venu d’Abyssinie-sur-Seine. La légende dit : “Kissing tigers is the specialty of Jeannette McDonald, performing in German Circus.”

“YOU MUST must remember zis, / A kiss is just a kiss, / A fly is just a fly,” doodles John Lennon on Anthology. His penchant for pun and wordplay makes one wonder what he could have done with osculation in popular song. From the Latin for kiss, it might sound technical – passion enacted upon a microscope slide – and there are indeed zoological usages. As for a meeting of the lips, the OED would have us believe that it petered out in the 19th century (Thackeray was fond of it), but it overlooks the most famous 20th-century instance: in Ulysses, when Bloom “kissed the plump mellow yellow melons of her rump, on each plump melonous hemisphere, in their mellow yellow furrow, with obscure prolonged provocative melonsmellonous osculation”.
